Pulitzer Prize—winning New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, who has been lobbing darts at the Bush administration ever since it came into office, is now embarking on her first book, with the same target in her sights. Putnam publisher Neil Nyren has signed her for Bushworld, in which she draws upon her extensive Washington news experience to zero in on the world of the president and his circle. This was a world and audio rights deal concluded with agent Esther Newberg at ICM, and the book will be out in August, in time for both political conventions and the closing weeks of the 2004 White House campaign.
