Competition has revved up on the hardcover fiction list, with two Da Vinci Code books among the top 10. In the #3 spot (not bad for a book that so far has had an 85-week tenure) is Dan Brown's fastest-selling hardcover novel, with a whopping 9.05 million copies in print. Landing in the #10 spot in its first week in the stores is Doubleday's The Da Vinci Code: Special Illustrated Edition, with a first printing of 675,000 copies. It includes more than 150 full-color images of all the artwork, symbols, architecture and historic locations mentioned in Brown's novel and the publisher is banking on strong holiday sales.
