Amy Kaneko, formerly marketing director, has been promoted to executive director of marketing. Sarah Williams, Chronicle's director of international sales and subsidiary rights, will expand her duties to include specialty sales.

Obituary: Hirschhorn
Joel Hirschhorn, Academy Award—winning songwriter, author, theater critic and PW reviewer, died at his home in Agoura Hills, Calif., on September 18. He was 67. A veteran movie songwriter, he won Oscars for the theme songs for The Poseidon Adventure and The Towering Inferno. He wrote seven books, and, for the past six years, was theater critic for Variety.
