Shuffling at Baker Publishing



The Grand Rapids, Mich.—based Christian publisher Baker Publishing Group has restructured its marketing department, promoting two of its employees. Twila Bennett has been promoted from director of marketing to senior director of marketing; she will focus on the company's trade titles. Bobbi Jo Heyboer has been given the same title, and will concentrate on marketing professional and academic titles.

Promos, Hire at RH Children's

Noreen Marchisi and Laurie Hogan have both been promoted at Random House Children's Books. Marchisi has been named senior publicist, while Hogan has been promoted to associate publicist from publicity assistant. And Elizabeth Mackey has joined RHCB as a publicist; most recently she was an associate publicist at Doubleday Broadway.

Entrekin, Villarreal Join NBF

Morgan Entrekin and Elpidio Villarreal have been named members of the board of the National Book Foundation. Entrekin is president and publisher of Grove/Atlantic. Villarreal is v-p and associate general counsel at Schering-Plough, a major U.S. pharmaceutical company.

Redmon, Lusardi Up at Viking

Hilary Redmon and Alessandra Lusardi have both been promoted at Viking. Redmon, who has been with Viking since 2003, has moved up from associate editor to editor. She's worked on such titles as The Great Influenza by John M. Barry and Mayflower by Nathaniel Philbrick. Lusardi has been named associate editor, up from assistant editor.

Tegge to IPG

Jeff Tegge has been named v-p of sales at Independent Publishers Group. Tegge was most recently general manager and v-p of sales at the small press distributor Quality Books and has previously held positions at, among other companies, Sourcebooks and Ferguson Publishing.

Promos at HarperCollins

David Sweeney and Marie Hergenroeder have been promoted in the special markets department at HarperCollins. Sweeney was named senior director of mail order, retail and wholesale; Hergenroeder has been named senior director or premium, propietary and display marketing.

New BAM CFO

Doug Markham will join Books-A-Million July 5 as its new CFO. Markham, who most recently was senior v-p and controller of Saks, replaces Richard Wallington.

Promos, Hires at S&S Children's

Two new hires and a promotion at Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing this week. Lucille Rettino has been named director of marketing, SSE and Simon Pulse. Most recently Rettino was executive director of advertising and promotion at Holt. Lila Haber is also joining the company, as a senior publicist; she is currently a publicist at Scholastic. And Elena Machlin has been promoted to marketing assistant, trade.

Correction

In the feature "Bring Out Your Undead" (June 5), we should have said that Sherrilyn Kenyon is the author of the Dark-Hunter series (not Night-Hunter series) and that her self-sacrificing were-beings are Dark-Hunters (not Night Hunters).
