| After the first nine months of 2006, AAP estimates show sales down in five segments and up in eight. The lack of a new Harry Potter has hurt sales in the children's hardcover segment, while the lack of new state adoptions has curtailed sales in the elhi category. September was a particularly soft month for elhi, as a 28.4% decline in basal sales and an 11.0% drop in supplementary sales resulted in an overall 26.0% decline in the category for the month. According to the AAP, the strongest print segment in the year to date has been trade paperbacks. | ||
