New Publisher at CRP

Chicago Review Press has hired a number of new employees and promoted two others. Cynthia Sherry has been promoted from associate publisher to publisher; she's been at CRP since 1989. She succeeds Linda Matthews, who has been named director of CRP. Susan Bradanini Betz, who was most recently editor-in-chief at Northwestern University Press, has been hired as senior editor for Lawrence Hill Books; Mary Kravenas, arriving from Sourcebooks, has been named sales and marketing coordinator; Devon Freeny, formerly a freelancer, has been named project editor; and Michelle Schoob, also formerly of Sourcebooks, has been named project editor.

Small Joins Tarcher

Shanta Small has been named associate publicity director and marketing manager at Penguin/Tarcher. Small was most recently at Random House Children's Books, where she worked on campaigns for Marcus Zuzak's The Book Thief and Carl Hiaasen's Flush.

Wilcutt to Booksource

School trade book distributor Booksource has named Mark F. Wilcutt controller. Wilcutt, who will be working to improve the infrastructure of the company and overseeing accounting and financial operations, arrives from Indox Services in St. Louis.

Edmison to PFD

Erin Edmison has been named foreign rights manager and associate agent at PFD New York. Edmison, who will start at PFD in May, has been a scout at Mary Anne Thompson Associates.
