Penguin Hires, Promos

Samantha Dell'olio has joined the Penguin Young Readers Group as senior publicist, arriving from Random House's Doubleday/Broadway imprint. Jessica Kaufman has been hired as a publicist; she was most recently at Hachette Books Group. And Derry Wilkens has been promoted to senior publicist.

Watson to PubWest

Kent Watson has been named executive director of Publishers Association of the West (PubWest). In his new role, Watson will run the nonprofit association, which has more than 200 small and mid-size indie publishers.

Hyperion Promos

A number of Hyperion staffers have taken on roles at the house's new female-centered imprint, Voice. Beth Gebhard, formerly publicity director, has been promoted to director of publicity for Hyperion and Voice. Jessica Wiener has gone from associate director of advertising and promotion to associate director of marketing for Hyperion and Voice. Claire Mckean has added the title of managing editor for Voice to her current one, senior production editor for Hyperion. And Anna Campbell, associate director of production for Hyperion, will now oversee the same for Voice as well.

Promos at Sterling

Sterling Publishing has bumped up a number of employees: Jason Prince has been promoted from v-p of sales and marketing to v-p, associate publisher; Jeremy Nurnberg from director of trade sales to v-p, trade and institutional sales; Frances Gilbert from editor-in-chief of children's books to editorial director, children's books; Josh Wood from trade sales manager to director, trade and institutional sales; and Ron Davis from v-p, special sales to v-p, special and international sales.
