Hire, Promo at Holt
Sara Bershtel has been promoted from associate publisher of Metropolitan Books to v-p, publisher. Karen Frangipane has been hired at Henry Holt Books for Young Readers as director of marketing; she arrives from Simon & Schuster.
Midpoint Reorganizes
Midpoint Trade Books has reorganized its sales and marketing departments and, as part of the move, Karen Bell has been brought on to sell Borders Group Inc. Bell was divisional merchandise manager for Borders. Brittany Pogue Mohammed has also been hired as a sales and marketing assistant.
Knight to Cleis Press
Brenda Knight has been named associate publisher at the San Francisco—based Cleis Press. Knight arrives from Palace Press, where she was v-p; prior to Palace she was at Red Wheel/Weiser and Conari. Also at Cleis, Kara Wuest has been promoted to publishing coordinator.
