Unit sales of print books performed well again in the week ended Aug. 9, 2015, with units up 7% over the similar week last year at outlets that report to Nielsen BookScan. All four categories posted increases in the week, led by juvenile nonfiction, where sales rose 25%. Johanna Basford’s two coloring books, Secret Garden and Enchanted Forest, ran one-two, respectively, on the juvenile nonfiction list, selling a combined 44,000 copies. A strong first week for Plunder and Deceit by Mark Levin helped drive a 9% increase in sales in the adult nonfiction segment. Levin’s book sold just under 62,000 copies, making it the #1 nonfiction title for the week. In adult fiction, unit sales were up 6%, compared to the similar week in 2014, as Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman maintained its hold on #1, selling more than 82,000 copies. What Pet Should I Get? by Dr. Seuss sold more than 77,000 copies in the week, helping the juvenile fiction segment post a 1% unit increase.
