Folio Literary Management has acquired the boutique children’s agency Greenhouse Literary Agency from Coolabi Group. The deal, which Folio said reinforces its commitment to children’s and YA services, will see Greenhouse’s list and team join Folio Jr., Folio’s dedicated children’s publishing division.

Founded in 2007 by U.K. children’s publisher Sarah Davies, Greenhouse—which describes itself as a “transatlantic” agency—represents such authors as Bill Doyle, Rebecca Monk, and Ngozi Ukazu. Under the agreement, former Greenhouse director Chelsea Eberly will join Folio Jr. as VP and agent, along with her assistant, Huyen Vu.

“I’ve long admired the Folio and Folio Jr. team and know that the Greenhouse Literary Agency’s legacy will continue alongside such stellar colleagues,” Eberly said in a statement.

Folio, which was founded in 2006 and introduced its children’s division in 2010, represents a roster of more than 1,000 authors. Folio partner Emily van Beek, who founded Folio Jr., said that Greenhouse’s authors are top of mind.

“Greenhouse has built an extraordinary legacy grounded in care, collaboration, and creative excellence, and we’re honored to carry that work forward while offering even more support and opportunity for these creators as part of Folio,” said van Beek in a statement.

Greenhouse belongs to the Working Partners Group, a fiction packager that was acquired by children’s media packager Coolabi Group in 2012. Eberly will continue working with Working Partners and its agency, Rights People, after her transition to Folio.

Chris Snowdon, managing director of Working Partners and Coolabi’s director of IP creation, expressed his hopes that the acquisition will benefit Greenhouse’s creators. “We are confident the move to Folio Jr., with its established children’s publishing infrastructure, will provide continuity and opportunities for growth for all Greenhouse clients,” he said.
