Welcome to our first-ever standalone comics announcements feature! With the format doing gangbuster business and the tremendous crossover between ages, genres, and other corners of pop culture, we thought it was time to expand our traditional preview into something of a one-stop shop for everything graphic coming up this spring and summer.

We have top 10 and longlist picks for middle grade, young adult, and adult readers, and a special section dedicated to the thriving manga scene. Elsewhere in the issue we profile New Yorker cartoonist Julia Wertz, whose graphic memoir Impossible People lands in May, and talk with Adam Bessie about Going Remote, his graphic memoir about his battle with cancer and teaching community college during the pandemic. On our cover is a self-portrait by Darrin Bell, the author and illustrator of The Talk, one of our 10 most anticipated titles for adults. Turn the page and see who else made the list. Happy reading!
