Dynamite to Publish ‘Myopia: Rise of the Domes’ in Early 2018
Following the 2016 publication of the Kickstarter-originated sci-fi comics project, Myopia by Richard Dent and artist Patrick Berkenkotter, Dynamite Entertainment plans to publish Myopia: Rise of the Domes, a new installment of the series that will be released in February 2018.
Based on a screenplay written by Dent, Myopia raised nearly $15,000 on Kickstarter in 2015 and eventually was picked up by Dynamite to published in the form of a comic in 2016. The publication’s Kickstarter campaign was supported by such notable authors as George R.R. Martin, Margaret Atwood, Dean Koontz and Jim Butcher.
Myopia: Rise of the Domes continues the story outlined in the first issue. A virus has been planted in mysterious domes located at the Earth’s magnetic poles. The government continues to work to decode the virus, while the main characters, Molly and Matthew, face betrayal and other dangers.
Dent is a Creative Writing teacher in National University’s MFA program. His original screenplay of Myopia was a finalist in the Francis Ford Coppola Screenwriting Competition and the Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Competition.
