Spies Like Us

Stuart Gibbs launched his middle grade Spy School series with the 2013 book of the same name, and interest has been building ever since. The seventh installment, British Invasion, debuts at #3 in children’s frontlist fiction; 20th Century Fox optioned the first book in October.

High Hopes

Author-illustrator team Adam Rubin and Daniel Salmieri have several picture book hits, chief among them 2012’s Dragons Love Tacos, which has amassed sales of 1.1 million print units. Their latest, High Five, pubbed April 16 and debuts on our children’s picture book list at #12, with print unit sales up 315% compared with the week before. Tacos sits just below it, returning to our list with a sales boost of 59%.

Mull It Over

Newt Gingrich and Pete Earley, prior collaborators on the Major Brooke Grant books, launch a new political thriller series with Collusion, which debuts at #5 in hardcover fiction. The tagline: “What if the Russians really are colluding with Americans... on the left?”

Also this week, Skyhorse’s edition of The Mueller Report debuts at #1 in trade paperback, #4 overall, with an introduction by attorney Alan Dershowitz, author of 2018’s The Case Against Impeaching Trump. The Scribner edition of the report, introduced by two Washington Post reporters, is #6 overall in its second week on sale.
